The Okertalsperre was built as a curved weight wall. It is likely to be the only sheet metal wall in Germany. The dam is 260 m long and 75 m high above the foundations. Its 8 m wide crown lies at an altitude of 418.2 m above sea level. NN. At the foot of the dam is 19 m wide. The wall has around 140,000 m³ of concrete volume.

The Okertalsperre is a dam near Altenau in the Harz in Lower Saxony Goslar and is operated by the Harzwasserwerke. Its reservoir, also known as the Okerstausee, has an area of 2.25 square kilometers (km²) and a storage area of 46.85 million cubic meters (m³) of water through a maximum of 75 meters (m) high and 260 meters long Dammed dam is dammed. The pent-up water drives the turbine of the Romkerhalle hydropower plant.
