The ascent to the Hallesche Hütte via the Jägerstieg is my absolute favorite climb in the Harz Mountains. It is rare to find such steep paths. The reward in the form of a phenomenal view over the Harz Mountains has definitely been earned after climbing almost 300 meters from Romkarhalle. Don't forget to check out the waterfall in Romkarhalle!

First of all: you don't have to choose the steep climb that is so often described here: you can also take a longer detour and get to the Hallesche Hütte in a more comfortable way. The Hallesche Hütte is therefore also accessible for those who shy away from the steep climb!I can personally recommend the steep climb: the path is something - you don't find such steep paths all that often in the Harz.Whichever of the two paths you choose: you will be rewarded either way with a magnificent view over the Okertal. For me, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the region!👍

The steep ascent is worth it, the view makes up for the exertion.
Nevertheless, be careful, sturdy shoes and if it's wet there is a risk of slipping. 👍
