The rectory in Rod an der Weil is one of the oldest rectories in Germany. The bar inscription from 1522 says that this year the beautiful two-story technical upper floor was built on top of the two massive basement floors. The fortress-like style of construction with defensive structures (portcullis on the sides of the pointed, iron-studded door, pitch bay and small barred windows) suggests that it was built in the 13th century. The old rectory is in the immediate vicinity of the Protestant church, high above the Weiltal. The parsonage is a listed cultural monument and the parsonage can be visited as part of a tour on the Weiltalweg. (See Taunusinfo)

Together with the church and a recently renovated barn, the rectory forms a very beautiful ensemble

A church in Rod an der Weil has been documented since 1297. The first priest, Syfried von Helse, was mentioned in 1283 and lived in the rectory next to the church, the oldest parts of which are estimated to date back to the 13th century. An extensive reconstruction must have been carried out in 1522 by priest Johann Hell. An inscription attests to this.
