The Alte Mulde is a tributary of the Mulde, covering 14.5 hectares over a length of 3.5 km, which runs through Saxony and is the border river between Saxony in the south and Saxony-Anhalt in the north. The Mulde itself can be reached via field paths from Roitzschjora. To the north of the town, the Tiefensee ditch flows into the Alte Mulde. The Alte Mulde is also the border river between Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The Löbnitz campsite is located on the western part of the Alte Mulde. The old arm of the Mulde north of Roitzschjora is lined by a narrow strip of trees. In the water there is a lot of dead wood in many places and numerous fields of water lilies. The fish population here is characterized by eel, perch, pike, carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd and whitefish.
