The former watchtower was built in the 14th century after the Counts of Luxembourg gave permission to the citizens of Thionville to fortify the city. The bell to the tower also dates from the 14th century. Today, the tower consists of three floors with cross-vaulted vaulting. The tower is an important monument of the city and also very nice to look at.
