The "Rhenish Apple Route" is a 124 km cycle path that connects the towns and communities of Bornheim, Alfter, Wachtberg, Meckenheim, Rheinbach and Swisttal. It thus includes the largest fruit and vegetable growing area in North Rhine-Westphalia, with around three million apple trees in the region. In the various towns there are local side routes, sometimes called loops. It is a project of the Rhein-Voreifel-Touristik.

Especially in the spring when they flower and in late summer when they are harvested, there are unique views.
