If you can look alone here it is like when a Roman comes out around the corner, the system is already huge.

In the heyday of Carnuntum, the 15,000-person amphitheater of the civilian city was built. The longitudinal axis of the entire building measures 118 meters, and the stands were - to protect the spectators from the wild beasts - four meters above the level of the arena, which still measures 68 meters. In the middle there is a pit. It provided the necessary water to clean the arena and at the same time served as a reservoir for the rainwater. During battle, the pit was covered with wood.

The amphitheater, which can hold around 13,000 people, was built next to the civil town in Carnuntum's heyday, as the town was expected to grow further. The longitudinal axis of the entire complex measures 118 meters, and the stands - in order to protect the spectators from the wild animals in the arena, as it was used for gladiator fights and animal hunting - were four meters high above the level of the arena, which is still 68 Meter measures.
