Hiking

Biesfeld is a district of Kürten. A pilgrimage chapel to the Sorrowful Mother of God (Mater Dolorosa) is mentioned as early as 1693. It belonged to the parish of Kürten. In 1906 the parish became independent. In 1909 a new church was built in the neo-Gothic style. The choir was expanded in 1959 by Bernhard Rotterdam Biesfeld is a place of pilgrimage for the veneration of the painful mother. The church is registered as a memorial under number 114 in the list of architectural monuments in Kürten.
