The Herrenbrücke leads here over the Red Water. The red water rises in the "Brücher Wiesen", which are now the NSG Franzosenwiesen. From here the red water flows towards Bracht. It runs through a narrow valley which is lined with biotopes and ponds and has the character of an alluvial forest.
But this is also about the Herrenbrücke. It was part of an important connecting route between the Wolkersdorf and Bracht hunting castles. The bridge itself was restored in 1843 (!) From sandstone from an old shooting tower.
To the west of here, remains of a settlement dating from the 8th to 10th centuries were found in the Franzosenwiesen. It may be that these were just supply yards for the occupation of the Christian mountain.
