Johan Dietrich Rahman from Cologne had the pharmacist's house built in 1668, as a plaque on the house wall confirms: “This dwelling was honored by Johan Dietrich Rahman Bey Cöllen am Rein gebiertig and pharmacist in the Varau district, to honor God and dear Vatterland in 1668 . Year". The statue of the Virgin Mary with child also comes from this period.Under the owner Josef Ressavar (1833 - 1907), Mayor of Hartberg, the previously smooth, unadorned outer wall was redesigned into a magnificent neo-baroque facade to give the impression of a baroque city palace.Source: hartbergerland.at/apotheker-haus_1063.htm
