The path from Paulinzella through the beech forest to the Mönchsbrunnen is just as recommendable as the fountain itself. The way there is very nicely signposted, but unfortunately I was missing information about why the fountain is there. It's so beautifully remade. Perhaps you should set up a bench to linger and perhaps also an information board.

Hiking

A little above the Mönchsbrunnen there is a hiking trail that takes you to the same height as the Thuringia Trail to Solsdorf.

The trail is on the Komoot map up to just above the fountain. The rest of the route is very easy to find, but has not yet been entered into Openstreetmaps or Komoot.

Along this path there are several large pine trees that have been scratched to extract resin. Someone probably wants to boil pitch.😊
