        Very popular place for excursions, whether on foot or by bike. Melchers Hütte is one of three Hammehütten that are still in use. The hut itself is really rustic and comfortably furnished and is reminiscent of the old days of the moor farmers and peat boatmen. Outside there is a beautiful beer garden as well as sun loungers and wooden swings. There is also a dock for peat barges and pleasure boats.
