Since the Möhne dam was built, the annual shooting festival of the St. Antonius shooting brotherhood in Günne has started at this bird shooting range. On Saturdays, the wooden eagle is set up for the shooting festival and on Mondays, the shooting king is chosen from the ranks of the brotherhood. The shooting king is the person whose shot causes the wooden eagle, or what is left of it, to fall completely from the bird stand or from the box.
