Remains of the old fortification from the early 14th century with two preserved shell towers, walls and loopholes on the north, south and especially along the east side with loopholes are still preserved from the local fortification of Kleinwallstadt.

Remains of the north-western round tower and a side round tower with a keyhole notch and a historicizing crenellated wreath next to the former gate at the end of Obere Gasse are still present.

They document the former administrative-political importance of the market town in the Mainz Electorate. 🚴‍
