According to Johannes Claes, the stone most likely came from the famous bridge construction. After the heavy bomb hits in the Second World War, the rubble was scattered across the meadow. Stones that could still be used were used again during the reconstruction, but some remained undiscovered. And so an original viaduct stone now carries the snacks of hikers.

Over 80 years ago, this seating group made of Eggesandstone was built in honor of Franz Scholand. In April 2021, a fallen tree destroyed the huge stone table on the dowel neck in Altenbeken.

Thanks to the commitment of Ulrich Börger (honorary member of the Eggegebirgsverein and patron of the Viadukt hiking trail) and the help of Johannes Claes, the broken tabletop could be replaced with a new tabletop after a short time. The new table top is made of original Eggesandstone and was donated by Johannes Claes.
