To the right of the simple entrance portal of the church is a memorial stone for Johann Ludwig Böhner, born in Töttelstädte (* January 8, 1787 in Töttelstädt, † March 28, 1860 in Gotha). Böhner was a celebrated piano and organ virtuoso. During his lifetime he was considered a highly gifted composer and master of musical improvisation and was called “Thuringian Mozart” by his contemporaries.
