The forest lake was created after the pit was flooded for the extraction of sand and gravel. The renaturation of the lake showed success. A local recreation area was created with a sandy beach and a dock for boats.

A great idyll has been created in Moers, which allows visitors to walk around the lake completely, switch off from everyday life and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Which can be wonderfully combined with the ascent to the top of the heap of the Rheinpreußen heap. Of course, we also hiked along the paths near the bank and always had the Rhine Prussia dump in our sights.
