At Kroondomein het Loo we find a pyramid, a cultural-historical building of the "Waterworks and pyramids" of Rotterdam harbor baron Daniël George van Beuningen who owned a piece of land here. The Pyramids were restored in 2008, whether water will ever flow through the concrete ponds again, we doubt with this drought.

Three landmarks of boulders can be found on the Noorderheide near Vierhouten: the Daniël George pyramid (D.G. pyramid), the Miesje pyramid, the Peter Paul pyramid (P.P. pyramid). Together with the lost Victoria pyramid, they were part of the estate of Daniël George van Beuningen (of the Boijmans van Beuningen museum). He built ingenious waterworks here in 1935, consisting of masonry gutters, ponds and a pumping station with which he pumped water to supply the "streams" with water.

By bicycle you can only see a pyramid and part of the waterworks. Unfortunately, the Vierhouterbos is only partially accessible to cyclists. If you want to see the rest of the waterworks and the other pyramids, you will have to continue on foot.
