The so-called exotic forest and the “Diedorfer Garten”, two forest complexes of particular importance, are located in the urban forest district of Diedorf. This unique collection of exotic trees was created back in the 1880s and is home to 70 foreign tree species on an area of around eight hectares.The tallest Douglas firs measure just under 60 meters, the largest coastal fir has a diameter of 1.50 meters at chest height and an estimated wood supply of 35 solid meters.There is no planned economic use in the exotic forest. Despite the devastating summer thunderstorm in June 2014, the diverse structure of this forest jewel was preserved. The nature trail around the exotic forest was partially destroyed by trees knocked over by the storm and is currently being rebuilt.

There is no planned economic use in the exotic forest. The nature trail around the exotic forest leads along the different tree species and these are explained on boards.
