The salt springs were appreciated by the inhabitants of Kołobrzeg since the 7th century. They were not used on an industrial scale until the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries.

Mainly for this reason, the coat of arms of the cities still features both pan and pan hooks, which were used to evaporate salt. The right bank of the Parsęta River was the beginning of the famous Salt Trail, thanks to which the city gained great wealth. Currently, the Solna Island, located near ul. Solna and in the vicinity of the bridge on the Parsęta river, it is a place of frequent visits of tourists. Their destination is an accessible brine spring, from which the salt solution flows into the stone well
