Vehicle exhibition in the GDR Museum Dargen
The vehicle exhibition shows almost all two-wheeled vehicles customary in the GDR, from “heel warmer” to the AWO, including brands from “friendly” foreign countries such as Jawa from the CSSR or Dnepr from the USSR. In addition, elevators such as Krause “Piccolo” and DUO.

Our range of cars extends from the FRAMO to the Tatra 603/613 and the Volga types. You can see e.g. delivery and ambulance vehicles. Among the “bigger ones” we can show the truck S400, a government bus Ikarus 22SL and a double-decker bus DO56, which has been fully restored by us. Many should also still be familiar with the tractors and equipment (e.g. Brocken witch, activist, pioneer ...)

Everyday life in the GDR
Our exhibition shows many things from the everyday life of GDR citizens.

Camera technology, kitchen and household appliances, toys, books and magazines, radio and television sets as well as tapes and record players. There are also many documents, from identity cards to house books, as well as a large number of medals and badges. An old KONSUM full of GDR products is just as much a part of our collection as the ABV room or the “parlor”.

The club restaurant invites young and old visitors to linger.

A journey into the past. 👍😁
It's definitely worth a visit, at least for those who still remember many of the exhibits from the past. We've rarely seen a museum where it was so "loud" – because people were discussing and laughing. The museum is definitely worth a visit!
