The Tiel court was a district court in the Netherlands from 1838 to 1934. When it was founded, Tiel was the fourth district of the province of Gelderland. The district was divided into four cantons: Tiel, Geldermalsen, Culemborg and Zaltbommel. In 1882 the court was given a new courthouse designed by J.F. Metzelaar. The district was dissolved in 1934 and added in its entirety to the district of Arnhem.

COURT BUILDING built between 1879 and 1882 to a design by government architect JOHAN FREDERIK METZELAAR (1818-1897). The monumental building is prominently situated on a site between the southwestern part of Tiel's city center and the Waal. This area still has the remains of the former Plantage, a walking area from the end of the 18th century behind the Bellevue building, such as park-like greenery, monumental trees and a water feature. North of the building is a post-war animal park. The main Nieuwe Tielseweg curves in front of the building.
