Yesterday the trail was almost overgrown, but still accessible with my touring bike. Crossing the Hoppecke was more difficult. The water was almost up to my knees. Driving through was out of the question. The stepping stones were also partially flooded and extremely slippery.

So I took off my shoes, shouldered the bike, and brought it dry across the river. The cool down came in handy and so I stayed a few minutes to strengthen myself. Fortunately, the rapids drowned out the nearby road.
