The forest environment at the springs of the Moros River is extraordinary, one of the best mature Scots pine forests in the Sierra de Guadarrama. In the most solitary and shady corners there are some hundred-year-old yew trees and there are also good stands of holly trees. The first springs are in the surroundings of a huge and monumental pine tree, it seems the guardian of the Eyes. The water comes out of the ground between the roots of the trees and the protrusions of the terrain. In summer they are usually almost dry. The best time is the end of winter and during spring. Los Ojos are distributed in several ravines that form the true source of the Moros River, further down the water is channeled in a small mountain torrent to the Espinar or Vado de las Cabras reservoir. The path leaves the natural springs of Los Ojos towards the northwest, it is the most uncomfortable and hard section of the route because the path is quite steep and the surface is very broken by runoff.
