Lower Saxony Mill Street No. 3

South of the village Handorf built the miller and mill-builder Jürgen Meyer 1868/69 for his son Georg a gallery Dutchman with Windrose. The mill received a two-storey substructure and a brick construction, while the top of the mill tower was covered with thatch. And so the mill is still there today. With its roller mill, a shotgun and grinding the mill was a thriving mill operation, but also the scene of horrific misfortunes: Georg Meyer himself lost his right hand while oiling the wing shaft, an apprentice was thrown from a wave to death and the son of a trader of the Slain windmill wings. In 1970, the mill was finally shut down and expanded in the 1980s as a residential mill. Today she also hosts a physiotherapy practice. In recent decades, Handorf has expanded along the main road to the south, so that the mill is now in the middle of a residential area. If you approach Lüneburg from the village, your wing-cross and its white cap still greet you from afar.

Beautiful mill, unfortunately you can't quite get to it from either side.

In 1868/69, the Reed-covered gallery holland was built with Windrose. Substructure and extension are made of brick. The mill, which today houses a physiotherapy practice, was shut down in 1970.
