Hiking
According to the information board, they guard the meeting point between slate and red sandstone. The "inferior" slate was formed from ancient seabed approximately 390 million years ago. In the southwest this shale subsided and was submerged by sandy river deposits. This happened at a time when many dinosaurs lived here, around 220 million years ago. The sands solidified into the “overlying” red sandstone that we see today. The Gaytalpark lies exactly on the boundary of the overlay.
