Location and History: The Kaisersträßle (Emperor's Road) is an east-west connecting route across the Schurwald ridge, dating back to the Middle Ages. Local legend claims that the road served the Hohenstaufen emperors on their rides from Hohenstaufen Castle to their imperial palace in Waiblingen. While current research casts doubt on this origin, it does not deny the road's historical importance. The same applies to the continued and still-used designation of certain sections as "Roman Road." For centuries, these roads supplied the surrounding towns and villages with timber, agricultural products, and other goods.
