In the many centuries that followed, the church was expanded and renovated several times (most recently in 1927) into the current structure of marl and Kunrader stone.
Special are the nine seventeenth and eighteenth century grave crosses and the tombstone of the De Villers de Pité family, former owners of East Castle.
