The sandy beach on the Geesthacht lock island is truly fantastic, with its many small coves. You wouldn't expect to find such a beautiful sandy beach here. It's not hidden at all and is easily visible from the Elbe bridge. It's always busy here in the summer. The free sandy beach is a paradise, especially for dogs. It's a great place to take a break, relax in the sun, and cool your feet. But please be very careful and don't go too far into the water.
