This crypt bears the surname of a well-known man: Adam Friedrich Zürner was a “Royal Polish and Electoral Saxon geographer, land and border commissioner” during the time of August the Strong. In this role he was responsible for the post mile pillars in Saxony. He did not settle here in Medingen himself, but one of his descendants, Heinrich Christoph Zürner, acquired the Medingen manor in the middle of the 19th century.

Adam Friedrich Zürner's crypt is in the garden next to the church. He was one of the owners of the Medingen manor (now a private castle) and was responsible for the post mile pigs at the time of the great August of Saxony.
