Against the backdrop of the minnesinger monument, Friedrich Rückert had the opportunity to recite samples of his earliest poems to the guests at the Round Table for the first time in 1814. The monument is a tribune with stepped side walls and back wall.
The relief shows the singing war at the Wartburg with minnesingers and carousing knights: The inscriptions are also preserved and contain the toast of the Christian Truchsess: "We are young, we were young, we remain young, we awake to eternal youth." The second The inscription refers to the beginning of Romanticism and the turn to the Middle Ages as the glorified origin of German history, which can only be understood in the course of the burgeoning patriotism of the time: "Aren't you coming back, old age of knights?
