This malt house was built at the end of the 19th century in the vicinity of various factories. Brewing malt for various breweries, but also malt extract and malt coffee were produced. As VEB Vereinigte Mälzereien, malt and malt extracts were produced until 1990. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it was converted into one of the first shopping centers in Dresden. With the settlement of other larger trading companies in the area, the old malt house experienced an upswing again in recent years.
