Idstein [ɪtʃtaɪn] is a town in the Rheingau-Taunus district in Hesse, Germany. It is located in the Taunus, north of the state capital Wiesbaden, and fulfills the function of a center center according to Hessian state planning.
In 2015, Idstein was awarded the honorary title of "Reformation City of Europe" by the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe. [2]
Since October 2016 Idstein carries the suffix "Hochschulstadt"

Beautiful half-timbered town with a lot of charm. It is also worth a detour, in the small winding side streets.

Am accidentally landed today in Idstein and was really excited really ne super nice old town necessarily look.

Beautiful old town with many half-timbered houses. The way through the side streets is also worthwhile.

One of the most beautiful small towns in Hesse with a fantastically beautiful, relatively large old town with many half-timbered houses. Restaurant tip for a fancy dinner: Höerhof!
