The 14 stations of the cross stretch over about 1.6 km and go back to the year 1858. Originally equipped with oil paintings, the wayside shrines were provided with the current mosaics by the artist Edzard Seeger in the mid-1980s.
In 2007 a little guide by Gisela Krenzlin appeared on the station path.
