For many decades, Holzen has owed its reputation to a pair of storks on the church tower. Around 1970 the storks were disturbed by renovations and never came back. As a result, the then local council decided in 1979 to build a stork enclosure, which is still looked after by the Lang family on a voluntary basis to this day. Entry to the enclosure is free and accessible at all times. But there is a donation box on the fence.

Currently there are about 30 storks living in the Stork enclosure in Holzen.
Admission is free.
Especially recommended is the visit in May / June, when the young storks hatch and make their first flight attempts.
