The Lippe rises in the core town of Bad Lippspringe at the western foot of the Egge Mountains. The Lippequelle, a karst spring with an average discharge of 0.74 m³ / s, is located at the southern end of the Arminius Park between the Lippe Institute in the west and the Congress House in the east. The Lippe is a 220 km long right tributary of the Rhine and received the River Landscape of the Year award in 2018.
