Hiking

The Hammertal lies on Remscheid city area and gets its name from the former hammer mill, which used to be here in operation. The Hammertal is limited by the districts Reinshagen, Güldenwerth, Vieringhausen, Kremenholl and Ehringhausen. The hammer works were driven by the Lobach and the Linkläuer brook. The hammers produced high quality refining steel or further processed it. Most of the Hammer and Kotten are not preserved today.
