Johann Heinrich Vogeler was born in Bremen on December 12, 1872 and died in 1942.
He was a painter, graphic artist, architect and writer, all in Art Nouveau.
The "Vogeler Villa" was Vogeler's first private commission. In 1905 he was commissioned by Theodor Garmann to design an "apartment with a shop in a large village". Striking are the stairs with the curved cheeks, typical of Vogeler's architecture, as well as the richly articulated and decorated front. Today there is a nursing home here.
