Originally a Gothic church stood here, of which the tower has been preserved during the construction of the current church. The four lower sections of this tower date from the 13th and 14th centuries. In 1910 two sections were added to this tower. The lower section of the tower is made of quarry stone and has a neoclassical portal from the first half of the 19th century. The following three sections are made of marlstone, as are the sections added in 1910.

The current church is a neo-Gothic cross basilica, built in brick from 1908-1910, under the architecture of Mathieu Christiaens.

The furniture includes two Louis XVI style confessional chairs from the late 18th century. The oak pulpit has panels from around 1700. The communion rail is from the mid 19th century. There is also a 17th-century Saint Ursula statue.
