The pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard is a bit out of the way, on the southern edge of the village of Siegertsbrunn. The Siegertsbrunn Leonhardikirche is one of the oldest and most important of its kind in old Bavaria. In the 16th century, pilgrims came here from a radius of up to 200 km. The current shape of the Leonhardikirche goes back to the Wittelsbach family. According to legend, the town's founder Sigoho is said to have built a wooden chapel on the site of today's church around the year 1000;
For centuries the Leonhardifest has been taking place in Siegertsbrunn on the first Sunday after Kilian (July 8th). In honor of St. Leonhards is a three-day festival with a pilgrimage on Saturday and a blessing of horses, carriages and riders on Sunday.
