Mountain biking

In the middle of the forest, not so easy to find. Today a trail dead end after a climb. From the marked crossroads, east of Niederdossenbach (east of the Marienkapelle), you roll north on the dirt road, the second crossroads at the beginning of the forest turn left and then just keep a little uphill to the right and follow the small signs. Allegedly set up in the Stone Age as a granite cult stone (menhir) in the middle of a calcareous area. The inscription Hunnenstein is engraved below, but that was the writing after the turn of the century.

Hiking

The "Hunnenstein" is a menhir made of Albtal granite, the origin and function of which are not clear. The monolith, which around 1900 would almost have been processed into a fountain trough, has almost certainly nothing to do with the Huns. The most plausible is an assignment to the "megalithic culture" (ca 3200-2800 BC).
