Fishing Pond at Hengelhoef Nature Reserve

Very pleasant walk around the fishponds. The paths are easy to walk. A multitude of water birds on the pond...and outside tourist periods quite quiet. 👌.

The fishing pond at the Hengelhoef nature reserve, located near Houthalen-Helchteren in Limburg, is a peaceful and picturesque place where nature lovers and fishermen can enjoy a relaxing day in nature. The Hengelhoef nature reserve is a vast area of forest, heathland and marsh, and the fishing pond is a beautiful natural point where water and greenery come together.

The fishing ponds are open from 1 March to 30 November and fishing is only permitted with a permit issued by LIMBURGS LANDSCHAP VZW or a residence ticket from the Oostappen recreation park for the period in question.
