The Obertorturm is a round tower with key loopholes and a defense platform. The upper area, battlements and roof zone, are reconstructions. The tower used to have access to the battlement on both sides. Today the entrance is at street level and enables the ascent of the tower and access to the battlement wall of the Fleckenmauer to the north.

Current information: Due to the measures to combat the corona pandemic, the Fleckenmauer is currently not accessible via the Obertorturm at any time. However, as part of the "Walk along the Fleckenmauer" guided tours, which will take place regularly from August 2020 to the end of October, on Saturdays at 5:00 p.m., it is possible to visit the top of the wall with the tour guides, while observing the current hygiene and distance measures under the guidance of the tour guides. Participation can only take place via prior registration and collection of contact details.
