Tips
The Ibbenbüren branch canal, remnant of an old passage of the Mittelland Canal, was built in the mid to late 1980s as part of the expansion of the Mittelland Canal. The one kilometer long branch canal Ibbenbüren with a small marina and a mooring and turning point for shipping was created by backfilling. The branch canal is used today as a recreational area and cycle on the cycle path parallel to the towpath towards Uffeln.
