Cime de la Bonette

Climb to do at dawn from Barcelonnette, a lot of marmots and less motorcycles ;-)

Great panorama, great road.

The 2 km long ring road (loop) starting at the top of the Col de la Bonette (2715 m) around the mountain peak Cime de la Bonette leads to 2802 m.

From the Col de la Bonette (2715 m) to the Cime de la Bonette (2802 m) and back on the other side.

Rewarding, easy to drive in the lower part, since the gradients are between 6 and 8%. The last 900m (distance, not altitude) you have to climb again in the pedals (about 15% slope). When you're up there, the effort is quickly forgotten and enjoys the incredible panorama!

An ascent that cannot be missing in your cycling touring curriculum. Road with good asphalt and partially dedicated to cyclists on the right of the carriageway.

A barren, inhospitable place. Beware, there is no protection against wind and rain.

the last big giant in front of the sea if you come from the north, grandiose pass

Great view on the top, but hard won. Unfortunately we did not choose the ideal translation for the last kilometer. It was one of the best views in the best weather. We started at 7.30. So we could fully enjoy the driveway in low traffic. At 10 o'clock the pass was heavily used.

Worth the extra detour on top of Col de la Bonette.

A very long climb from the south - but it is easy to ride (as it is not particularly steep). A landscape highlight.

This mythical pass will not leave you hungry, it is long, difficult, but the reward at the top is worth it.

Highest road in France! It's beautiful and an amazing view into Italy and the Ubaye Valley.

In strong wind or traffic it is more comfortable for cyclists to drive the "extra loop" in a clockwise direction.
The long descent on the south ramp is a dream!

Great views with snow walls if you are lucky on this artifical and steep rocky last km to the monument (suprême)! ;-)
