Benroth is located on the sunlit side of the Bröltal, belongs to the municipality of Nümbrecht and was selected by NRW in 1991 as the model village 'ecological village of the future'. The ecological remodeling through small and large measures (e.g. wet biotope, dry stone walls, hedges, desettlement) can be seen in the appearance of the village.
