Radziwiłł Hunting Manor

It is located in the Kaczew forest in the Bolimów Forest (Łódź Province), just a few hundred meters from the national road between Bolimów and Skierniewice, on the so-called Budnicki Route. And although the former hunting manor of the Radziwiłłs is now almost a ruin, its beauty is still visible.The Radziwiłłs appeared in this area in 1774. In that year, Prince Michał Hieronim Radziwiłł, later the voivode of Vilnius and one of the richest Polish-Vilnius magnates, bought the extensive Nieborów estate (the palace in Nieborów is only about 14 km away from the manor). Part of these estates was the Bolimów Forest. It was written about it in the 16th century in the "Lustracja Województwa Rawskie": "There is a great wilderness near Bolemów (medieval name), which is about three miles long and two miles wide, partly coniferous, partly forest; there is a large pine forest, many wild beehives, large oak, autumn oak, hornbeam, lime tree, birch tree, alder, birch forest and plenty of other trees; there are also animals, such as deer, in abundance."
