The Motta Chapel is located in the municipality of Ripalta Arpina, on the dirt road that connects it with Madignano, passing through the Corfù farmhouse. It is a historical symbol for the Cremaschi in fact after the siege and sacking of Crema by the Cremonese and Barbarossa, there was a new revenge by the Milanese and the allied Cremaschi: these, in fact, on 5 June 1139, with a very bloody fight which took place at Motta di Ripalta Arpina, they manage to gain the upper hand over the Cremonese; on that day, says the Cronica di Sicario, "maxima pars populi Cremonae fuit capta" that is, the Cremonese army was largely taken prisoner following a maneuver that enveloped the two wings. In the Chapel of the Motta restored in 1945 some remains of the fighters of that battle are preserved.
