Mining of ore began in Ahausen in 1830. In 1885 the operation was stopped for the time being and resumed in 1928, after the mine came into possession of Buderus. The system exhibited here was in operation from 1936. In 1955 it was dismantled for cost reasons as it became easier to transport the ore to Weilburg by truck instead of on rails.

The Ahausen crushing and classification plant with bunker was built in 1936 and operated until 1955.

It was able to crush the ore from the Allerheiligen pit, process it and load it onto the pit railway via nine chutes (adjacent filling chutes).

From 1944, the ore was transported by cable car from the loading point to Weilburg station.
