The ghostly virgins on the Schlösslesbuck

The Schlösslesbuck is the easternmost elevation of the Hesselberg. Both should be connected by an underground passage. From the Schlösslesbuck the so-called Drudental (= "Hexental") stretches down in an easterly direction to Röckingen.
Three virgins live on the Schlösslesbuck, cursed for an unknown reason. They are very small and never moved further than the Drudental. Two are dressed completely white, the third white up to the belt, but wears a black skirt. The three maidens appeared to a servant from the inn in Röckingen, who was tilling his field on the Schlösselesbuck, and begged him to go with them into the mountain and to redeem them. He will also be rewarded with a great treasure. Let him be of a pure heart, he need not fear the forces of darkness: You will pass six men sitting around a table with long beards that reach down to the ground. He would then pass through a heavy door into a second room, in which a black dog with fiery eyes crouches, with a key hanging from its fangs. He should fearlessly take this key, even if the dog breathes fire. The treasure then rests in the third chamber. But the servant was afraid and left the virgins unredeemed, and so they still wait today until a courageous hiker hears them and enters the interior of the mountain fearlessly.
